Reaching new disciples in the spirit of Matthew 28 and Matthew 25

The Presbytery of Tampa Bay has launched a new initiative to help congregations respond to Christ's two great commissions:   "Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations  Matthew 28:19 and "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it to me."  Matthew 25: 35-40.

Participating congregations will nominate teams of lay and clergy to commit to the development and implementation of plans to reach new disciples.  Pastors will commit to monthly gatherings of prayer, study and accountability.   Additional information, including the congregational "Body of Christ check up" will be posted online in the near future.

We are part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and have more than 247 long-term missionaries serving in 67 countries. The PC(USA) provides over $2.1 million annually to hospitals, clinics and development programs in more than 35 countries. Presbyterians also have sent disaster recovery assistance to 35 countries abroad and 26 states at home.

We are faithful to God as revealed in the Bible. In addition, we are guided by the historical creeds of the church collected in the Book of Confessions and are governed by the traditions of the church as provided in the Book of Order
