Presbytery Disaster Assistance Team (PDAT)
The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Team (PDAT) exists to support congregations across the Presbytery of Tampa Bay in times of crisis.
Chair: Les Totten, Chair
Disaster Recovery Coordinator: Rev. John Scott
Whether facing hurricanes, flooding, or other emergencies, PDAT helps churches prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters—drawing on both local partnerships and national Presbyterian resources.
The team encourages connection and collaboration across the presbytery, fostering mutual care and equipping congregations to engage in recovery efforts within their communities.
PDAT is supported by a part-time Disaster Response Coordinator who works closely with long-term recovery groups, ecumenical partners, and local leaders throughout the region. This role enhances the presbytery’s ability to remain active in disaster response over time and ensures that congregational needs are met with thoughtful coordination and care. The ministry is sustained by the dedication of leaders across the presbytery and the generous support of congregations committed to walking alongside one another through seasons of challenge and renewal.
