Astralis Chamber Ensemble – Peace Memorial Holiday Concerts

WHEN:  DECEMBER 14 AT 3PM!

WHAT: HOLIDAY CLASSICS CONCERT – Please join us as the highly acclaimed Astralis Chamber Ensemble presents a magical concert with holiday favorites including “Greensleeves” and “Cantique de Noel.” The program will also include classical repertoire to fit the spirit of the season with a fantasy on “Sleepers Awake” by JS Bach along with his famous Cello Suite in G Major, a sparkling work featuring the harp by Dussek, and the beautiful Deux Pièces en Trio by Jongen.

WHO:  ASTRALIS ENSEMBLE Highly acclaimed, this chamber ensemble presents over sixty recitals each season for some of the most competitive concert series across the eastern United States and each of their members are widely hailed for their virtuosic musicianship.
ANGELA MASSEY, flute- Angela received degrees in flute performance from Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
LAURA USISKIN, cello- Laura  graduated from Columbia University cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior, The Juilliard School with a Master of Music, and Yale University with a Doctor of Musical Arts
ISABEL CARDENES, harp- With a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, Isabel is currently based in Philadelphia where she is pursuing her master’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music with Philadelphia Orchestra principal harpist Elizabeth Hainen.

WHERE: Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church (the pink church downtown) 110 S. Ft. Harrison Ave., Clwr. (at corner of Pierce and Ft. Harrison).

CHARGE:  No tickets needed and seating is first come, first served.  An offering to help defray future performance costs is respectfully requested but not required ($5-$10 minimum suggested). Doors open at 2:30.

PARKING/ACCESS:  There are four primary areas: 1) directly east across Ft. Harrison in large County lot 2) in lot north of the church fellowship hall 3) directly west in the Old City Hall lot and 4) at the SW corner of Pierce and Osceola in an additional city lot. The city has now started construction on a parking garage in the old shell lot right behind Peace, so this area will be unavailable until the garage is finished.  During peak traffic times you may wish to use Myrtle Avenue and access the church by way of Pierce or Park Streets.
