- Facilitate vision: Nurture ongoing shift from inward focus to a servant-oriented, outward focus.
- Preach & teach biblically: Equip the congregation through relevant, inspiring sermons and robust Christian education for all ages, focusing on spiritual growth, a Christ-centered vision, and meaningful service.
- Foster community & relationships: Lead outward focus on building community bonds, including: welcoming and following up with newcomers, reaching out to young families/nearby universities/the wider community, and expanding partnerships with community service and outreach programs. Champion small groups and fellowship opportunities that deepen individual relationships with Jesus and others.
- Provide pastoral care: Offer compassionate counseling, visitations and support in times of need; promote a culture of caring for all.
- Maintain transparency & sound administration: Facilitate and delegate administrative tasks, and foster transparency and trust. This includes overseeing staff, empowering volunteers, encouraging open communication, modeling fiscal responsibility and optimizing church facilities—in collaboration with Session-led committees.
- Moderate Session: Moderate Session, communicate regularly with the congregation about the Session’s work, and ensure continuity in leadership of ministry teams.

More than managing services, this role is about creating spaces where strangers become neighbors, people encounter hope and belonging, and all are sent to serve the world together.
