In partnership since 1995
Since 1995, the Presbytery of Tampa Bay has shared a covenant partnership with the Presbytery of Honduras, rooted in mutual learning, shared ministry, and lasting relationships. What began as a connection between leaders in both presbyteries has grown into a decades-long partnership shaped by trust, presence, and the Spirit’s movement across borders.
This partnership supports congregational development, leadership training, evangelism, and economic and theological education—responding to the needs expressed by our Honduran siblings in Christ. In turn, congregations and leaders from Tampa Bay have deepened their understanding of global mission and gained new perspectives on faith and ministry.
Over the years, this relationship has included:
- Mission teams from Tampa Bay supporting the construction of church buildings, education spaces, and housing in partnership with local congregations
- Support for pastoral training and theological education in Honduras
- Creative mission projects such as providing livestock, Bibles, and evangelism resources
- Congregational partnerships that have fostered lasting friendships, cultural exchange, and mutual encouragement
- Ongoing collaboration with PC(USA) mission networks and the Christian Commission for Development (CCD) in Honduras
Today, the Presbytery of Honduras is made up of a growing number of congregations—many of which are led by committed lay leaders serving in challenging contexts with limited resources. Despite economic hardship and geographic obstacles, their ministries continue to thrive through faith, resilience, and the support of partnerships like ours.
