Presbytery of Tampa Bay

Mission

Covenant Partners

The Presbytery of Tampa Bay is grateful to share in long-standing covenant partnerships with four vital ministries in our region: Beth-El Farmworker Ministry, Cedarkirk Camp & Conference Center, and the Florida Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Network, as well as a covenant relationship between the Presbytery of Honduras and the Presbytery of Tampa Bay.

 Beth-El
Farmworker Ministry

In partnership since 1989

Since 1976, Beth-El Farmworker Ministry, Inc. has served the farmworking community and neighbors in need by feeding mind, spirit, and body. Through programs focused on hunger relief, education, healthcare, and spiritual development, Beth-El provides life-giving resources and holistic support. The Presbytery of Tampa Bay is honored to stand alongside Beth-El in this work of justice, compassion, and hope.

 Cedarkirk Camp
& Conference Center

In partnership since 1987

Nestled along the Alafia River on 170 acres of Florida woodlands, Cedarkirk offers year-round opportunities for spiritual renewal and growth in a natural setting. Co-owned by the Presbyteries of Tampa Bay and Peace River, Cedarkirk welcomes individuals and groups of all ages for retreats, camps, and conferences designed to nurture faith, rest, and connection. This covenant partnership reflects our shared investment in Christian formation across generations.

 Florida Presbyterian
Disaster Assistance Network (FLAPDAN)

In partnership since 2004

FLAPDAN exists to help congregations and presbyteries across Florida prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. As a ministry of partnership among Florida presbyteries and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), FLAPDAN supports long-term recovery efforts, builds local response capacity, and fosters collaboration between churches and community agencies. The Presbytery of Tampa Bay actively participates in this network, especially through the work of our own Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Team.

Honduras Partnership

In partnership since 1995

Since 1995, the Presbytery of Tampa Bay has shared a covenant partnership with the Presbytery of Honduras, rooted in mutual learning, shared ministry, and lasting relationships. What began as a connection between leaders in both presbyteries has grown into a decades-long partnership shaped by trust, presence, and the Spirit’s movement across borders.

This partnership supports congregational development, leadership training, evangelism, and economic and theological education—responding to the needs expressed by our Honduran siblings in Christ. In turn, congregations and leaders from Tampa Bay have deepened their understanding of global mission and gained new perspectives on faith and ministry.

Over the years, this relationship has included:

  • Mission teams from Tampa Bay supporting the construction of church buildings, education spaces, and housing in partnership with local congregations
  • Support for pastoral training and theological education in Honduras
  • Creative mission projects such as providing livestock, Bibles, and evangelism resources
  • Congregational partnerships that have fostered lasting friendships, cultural exchange, and mutual encouragement
  • Ongoing collaboration with PC(USA) mission networks and the Christian Commission for Development (CCD) in Honduras

Today, the Presbytery of Honduras is made up of a growing number of congregations—many of which are led by committed lay leaders serving in challenging contexts with limited resources. Despite economic hardship and geographic obstacles, their ministries continue to thrive through faith, resilience, and the support of partnerships like ours.
