I’ve been serving as the Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Tampa Bay for 3 and a half years now, and while I have enjoyed many aspects of the work immensely, over the last year or so I’ve felt God’s call to move on to the next stage for myself and my family.
Two weeks ago, I accepted a call to a small church in my parents’ town of Danville Virginia: Williamson Memorial Presbyterian Church. This change will allow my kids to get to know their grandparents and give me more time and flexibility to pursue the things I feel God encouraging me to do.
I’m pleased to report that there is already a plan in place to handle the transition. Rev. Bill Wildhack, part-time pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Safety Harbor, has agreed to be the transitional Stated Clerk. He and I will overlap for 6 weeks as I wrap things up here and he learns the ropes. My last day will be February 28th.
Thanks so much for all of the support and friendship over the past 3 and a half years as Stated Clerk, as well as during the 10 years I’ve been in the Presbytery. I’ll miss everyone, and feel free to reach out while I’m still in Tampa!
