Dear all
The US Climate Action Network and Rev. Leo Woodberry (Dogwood Alliance) are inviting local organizations to participate in Tampa’s Justice First Tour on August 9th. Miami will also have its own version on August 10th.
As you will see on the links below, the Justice First Tours have been happening for a few months in diverse cities of the Southern states. It “calls for a strong network of grassroots and frontline organizations working together to advance climate justice and forest protection, with a focus on 100% clean energy for 100% of the people.” It is not a GCAS (Global Climate Action Summit) related event, but encourages communities to organize their own events to support GCAS (“Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice”), and to work in getting people to the polls in November.

Alongside the themes the Tour will bring attention to:
1) Ready for 100% campaign, national representative from Sierra Club
2) Forest Protection – how forests help climate issues.
3) The Environmental Bill of Rights (Rev. Woodberry)
… the tour will feature local community leaders/speakers who will talk about a diversity of local “Justice” related issues (immigration, women’s rights, climate justice, jobs, etc.), to inspire a dialogue among participating citizens and organizations, seeking to find solutions to these issues in an intersectional way.
As GreenFaith, I hope you will also be interested in joining the Justice First Tour and inviting others who might also. The EarthMan Project will also be presenting their fantastic music, perfect for all ages and inspiring us to work for Justice, together. I look forward to seeing you there.
